<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Virgil&#8217;s Root Beer (And Stevia Sweetened Zero)</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">In search of the best root beer&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Virgil&#8217;s microbrewed root beer is a serious contender.  Seriously.  With a long list of  natural spices, including sweet birch, vanilla, anise, licorice, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, allspice, molasses, cassia oil, wintergreen and balsam oil, this incredible mix of spices dishes up rich, complex flavor.  Each and every one of those flavors put in a respectable appearance on your taste buds.  Those flavors unfold with each new sip.  Each lighting up your mouth with it&#8217;s own clear burst of specific characteristics.  It&#8217;s shockingly good.  It might turn out to be our favorite.  Without a doubt, it&#8217;s currently topping our short list.  Love it!!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">And, the stevia sweetened Zero Root Beer has a simple, yet pleasing flavor.  The bitter stevia aftertaste buries the complexity found in the cane sugar version.  But, it&#8217;s perfectly &#8220;fine&#8221;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">We found our two 4 packs at Your Dekalb Farmer&#8217;s Market.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>David&#8217;s Produce &amp; Country Store</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/36513-2/7757.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The smell of boiled peanuts simmering in a giant pot out front and this wooden door frame with vintage vegetable art tacked to it invite you in.  The building might be small in stature, but, it&#8217;s packed to the gills with jams, jellies, hot sauce, pickled veggies, fresh fruit, vegetables, a mountain of cakes, and quirky stuff.  Like this&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/36525-2/7761.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Redneck Fishing Lure</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/36519-2/7759.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>AKA Exploding (Microwavable) Pork Rinds</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/36540-2/7766.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>&#8230;and Pickled Quail Eggs with Garlic</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Hmm&#8230;. maybe next time.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/36534-2/7764.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Root Beer Taste Test &#8212; Boylan Bottleworks vs. Sprecher Brewery</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">We did have time for a mini taste test.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Boylan Bottleworks won!</strong> Boylan&#8217;s rich, complex flavor won us over.  And, we suspect the use of cane sugar eliminated the unpleasant aftertaste we noted with Sprecher&#8217;s.  But, Sprecher&#8217;s was mighty tasty, too.  Super sweet.  Sprecher&#8217;s had the flavor of root beer candy in a bottle.  It was just too sweet for both of us.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Sadly, we were unable to buy any of the fresh fruits, veggies or one of those tempting cakes.  (We weren&#8217;t headed home.)  But, we&#8217;ll be back.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Almond Croissants</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Flaky, buttery, and very generously stuffed with richly scented marzipan&#8230; we&#8217;d love to start every morning with a cappuccino and one of these beauties.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/26110-2/59136.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">That toasty bite of marzipan was perfection.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/26158-2/59152.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Peach &amp; Blueberry Fried Pies</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Super-ripe peaches and blueberries make the perfect filling for these crispy hand pies.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/26017-2/59098.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Cheddar &amp; Bacon Croissant</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Cheese was oozing from both ends.  And, that cheese got crispy in the oven as the croissant baked.  So delicious.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone" src="http://photos.iggyhead.com/main.php/d/26113-2/59137.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="570" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">There might not appear to be much inside.  But, the quality of both the cheese and bacon shines when wrapped in these buttery, fluffy layers.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Holeman &amp; Finch Bread Co. offers their incredible pastries and breads at a number of specialty markets, restaurants and all of the best farmers markets around town.  Check out their website for a full list of places to find them near you.</p>
