Thumbs Up Cola & Coconut Juice

The coconut juice was lovely with our refreshingly spicy meal. The Thumbs Up Cola? We have to say it. We’re not fans. There’s an unpleasant chemical taste to it that we did not enjoy.

Bullet Chicken

Loved it! This might look a bit like sweet and sour chicken. But, these crispy chicken chunks have a great spicy kick. While we eagerly gobbled up each and every bite, we think it might be too spicy for some.

Crispy Chili Shrimp

The crispy chili shrimp dish is almost identical to the Bullet Chicken. The one real difference is a slightly heavier breading on the shrimp. This breading didn’t hold up to the sauce quite as well. This caused it to get a bit soggy toward the end of the meal. We still enjoyed it.

Crispy Chili Paneer

Deep fried crispy paneer chunks in chili sauce with red onions and scallions, this might just be one of the tastiest paneer dishes we’ve ever eaten. Again, nearly identical to the shrimp, but without the breading. These three dishes are listed as appetizers on the website. But, each of these dishes was served with an equally generous portion of rice. That makes each one these choices a very hearty meal. After feeding two very hungry individuals, we ended up with more than enough leftovers for two lunches.

Shahi Falooda Kulfi

Those three little mounds of pistachio dusted kulfi drizzled with rose syrup top a bowl of soft vermicelli in a thick syrupy sweet cream. Yes, it’s VERY sweet. But, with each version of this dessert we try, we enjoy it a little bit more each time. The interesting blend of textures and flavors create a pleasantly unique sweet treat.

Coconut & Chocolate Frozen Yogurt With Sweet Coconut Shreds

This is the small bowl!

If you find yourself at Discover Mills after a day of holiday shopping, you might want to reward yourself with a little treat. That place is a family friendly people zoo. Even, the small bowl holds what looks to be about a pint of frozen yogurt. So, we always choose to share a bowl. This bowl of coconut and chocolate yogurt topped with sweetened shreds of tender coconut flakes was about $ 5. That was more than enough for us. Actually, it was still too much. But, it was an acceptable splurge after many (MANY) hours of shopping for shoes and boots.

It’s true. These are losing a bit of their breading. But, each tender little liver was touched with just the right dose of pink. And, that wilted pile of greens might not look like much. Fear not, these mustard greens are full of rich meaty flavor and strewn with bits of smoky pork.

Merguez With Cucumber, Mint, Yogurt & Currants

The casing was browned nicely. Yet, the interior remained tender and succulent. A chunky dice of red pepper adds more flavor and a touch of color.

Soft Serve Vanilla Ice Cream With Charcoal Dust

The light dusting of sea salt brings this sweet vanilla to life.

La Pièce de Résistance… The Sammy

Two buttery cookies with big chunks of chocolate and crisp bacon are filled with sweet vanilla ice cream. The intense contrast of that soft, sweet vanilla ice cream from those crisp, salty nibbles of bacon is a real winning combination. But, the true genius is the soft, tender cookies. They’re not frozen. So, those delicate, buttery cookies crumble decadently into the ice cream.

These little darlings might only be $3 each. But, they’re gonna getcha with the come-back.

They’re just begging to be eaten.

These are tasty, too. But, the chocolate gets lost in the mix. The vanilla’s the way to go.

It might not be the best ice cream in the WORLD. But, it’s one of our favorite guilty pleasures. Sometimes, that inner child buried deep down can be easy to please. Sometimes.

From the glowing neon to the two-tone turquoise vinyl seats and speckled formica table tops to those cheery red umbrellas, this place is a blast. And, the folkscopin’ can be more than colorful. You might even make friends with your friendly neighborhood ___.

Calabrian chiles, anchovies, olives, garlic and San Marzano tomatoes… this was one delicious pizza. This dough was clearly given time for proper dough development. It was evident in the rich, mature flavor.

Tender, succulent pork and that gorgeous roasting jus, the richness of it was brought to life by those fresh, bitter greens.

Blackberry Ice Cream & Cantaloupe Sorbet

A deliciously fabulous end to the meal. The bright, fresh taste of the cataloupe contrasted delightfully with the rich, creamy blackberry ice cream.

Finally… a new Ben & Jerry’s flavor that we not only like but downright LOVE! Sweet peanut butter ice cream, caramel clusters, fluffy marshmallow swirls and peanut butter swirled throughout, this is one killer combination of yum.

Since we both love it, it’s sure to disappear in the not-too-distant future. Then, we can go back to hating Ben & Jerry’s for killing yet another flavor that we loved.

Bonnaro Buzz

Can it be? Another new flavor to love? Yes, sure enough, it is. This is another winner. Coffee and malt ice creams swirled with whiskey caramel and English toffee chunks. Divine. This might even be better than Clusterfluff. At least one of us thinks so, anyway.

(On the way out, we noticed that the next Double Zero Chocolate Cake being sliced was iced with an even darker espresso creme. We’ll be hoping for that darker espresso creme on our next visit.)

Toasted Coconut & Cake Batter in a Waffle Cup

We love these flavors in theory. But, in reality they were a bit icy and gritty texture-wise.

It would be easy to mock chocolate covered Twinkies and the other mass-produced snack food items. However, we’ve both joked about a return visit. The primary goal of this visit would be to try that crazy Twinkie calorie bomb.

Two edible, yet, forgettable truffles

Caramel dipped Pretzel Stick

Fresh pecans and soft, chewy caramel made this the sweet of the day. More please. And, we’d happily visit again for the dark chocolate covered molasses honeycomb. Yum.
