Chinotto

Chinotto uses the flavor of a small bitter citrus fruit of the same name for this interesting sparkling soda.  It also makes a great addition to cockails.  The bittersweet flavor adds interest and complexity to our favorite mixed drinks.  Chinotto oranges are also used as a flavoring in Campari.  But, the flavor of chinotto in Campari is far more intense and bitter than San Pellegrino’s soda.

Aranciata and Limonata sodas (orange and lemon sodas also sold under the San Pellegrino name) are easier to find.  But, they lack the bitter orange flavor that makes Chinotto unique.
