Scouting out the area on the first afternoon…

Then…

Bright and early on a misty day…

With all the shadows, it’s hard to see just how clear it is.

But, it is crystal clear… gin clear… Ginnie Springs…

Gator Tail

Battered Bites of Gator Tail

This was one huge platter of gator bites.  As expected, they were crispy and tender. But, this batch at Gator’s Dockside was a bit fishier than all of the other times that we’ve eaten deep fried gator.  And, we’ve had quite a few over the years.

Dozens of TVs showing every football game at least twice…

and a few other sporting events thrown in for good measure.

Wings

The wings were pretty great.  They’re gigantic and tasty.  They’re crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor.  And, best of all, they’re nicely sauced without being over-sauced.  Right down to the very last bite, each wing had plenty of crispy bits.

The platter in back holds the Gator’s Scooter Sauce’d wings.  The other has deep fried and grilled jerk wings.  We both preferred the deep fried and grilled wings.  But, we were hoping for a spicier jerk sauce.
